The village of Avieira da Palhota, located next to the banks of the Tagus River, was created by fishermen from Vieira de Leiria who, from the 19th century onwards. XIX, they began to look for their livelihood in this river during the winter months, ending up permanently settling in these tiny villages with just over half a dozen houses.
