The Fort River Trail, or the Howard Garis trail, follows the Fort River for a little over a mile. The trail is well-marked, but can get a little overgrown in the spring and summer, through beautiful woods and wetlands. There are wooden boardwalks with rest stops and benches along the river and through the marshes. This is a great family-friendly trail and a nice option for a short after work walk.
