The local history museum in Hollen, officially called the “Hollen Museum”, offers a fascinating insight into the history of the towns of Hollen and Abbenseth. The museum was founded in 2004 to mark the village’s 1,000th anniversary and is located on Kirchweg in Hollnseth-Hollen.
The museum presents an extensive collection of documents, maps, pictures and finds such as traditional costumes, handicrafts and historical stones. The exhibition is the result of decades of research by former teacher and pastor Michael Schwieger, who has studied the history of the region intensively. The exhibits can be viewed by prior appointment.
