From the Sa Mela water source, the route goes downhill to Lake Maccheroni, where cycling presents an exciting challenge. The route is extremely winding and offers breathtaking Sardinian panoramic views. There are sometimes stones on the side of the road that can damage the tires, which is extremely dangerous at high speeds. Sometimes the road is sandy, so you need to be careful around the curves.
