From the Sa Mela water source, the route goes downhill to Lake Maccheroni, where cycling presents an exciting challenge. The route is extremely winding and offers breathtaking Sardinian panoramic views. There are sometimes stones on the side of the road that can damage the tires, which is extremely dangerous at high speeds. Sometimes the road is sandy, so you need to be careful around the curves. Driving slowly and enjoying the surroundings is a must here. The traffic is light, the route is more demanding, and in the second part of this section the asphalt is partially damaged.
