The opera reformer Christoph Willibald Gluck was born in the Berching district of Erasbach on July 2, 1714, and shaped opera throughout his life through his style and music. A statue honoring the composer was unveiled on July 2, 2022, at Reichenauplatz in Berching, on what would have been Gluck's 307th birthday. The bronze statue was donated by Hans-Peter Schmidt and designed by the internationally renowned artist Anna Chromy.
