In the center of the town stand the majestic ruins of the castle built in 1110 and ruined during the First World War: the enormous tower is still almost intact. The parish is located in the territory that was formerly subject to the jurisdiction of the counts of Collalto and S. Salvatore di Susegana. It is believed that the care of souls initially depended on Pieve di Soligo. In 1544 it was a curacy, later, no one knows when, it became a parish rector and was so called because the parish priest was called rector. On 29 April 1931, Bishop E. Beccegato established it as a parish on a par with all the others. The church of Collalto, even before the 18th century, was united to the Priories of the Knights of St. John of the Temple - later it passed to the ancient Commandery Lippomano - then to the noble Querini family of Venice and latterly to the comm. From the Arms. In 1851, to replace the old one, a new church began to be built which was consecrated by Bishop Manfredo Bellati in 1857. Destroyed during the 1915-1918 war, the current one was built in 1927 based on the architect's design. D. Rupolo. Collalto has the honor of being the birthplace of Blessed Giuliana who is celebrated in the Diocese and in Venice on 1st September.
