According to legend, in pagan times there was a Saint in this place. Grove. While celebrating the mysteries, Saint was said to have appeared to the pagans on one of the birch trees. He goes. Stunned by this fact, the pagans adopted Christianity and chose Giles as their patron. From then on, the settlement was to be called Brzeźnio, after the birch tree on which the saint appeared (source terrasiradiensis.jimdofree.com/parafie/brze%C5%BAnio/).
