The RuheForst Flensburg Fjord / Glücksburg is a designated forest burial ground, nestled in the natural, tranquil landscape of the Flensburg Fjord. This place offers people the opportunity to find their final resting place under ancient beech, oak, maple, or even holly trees—surrounded by the tranquility of the forest and the sea view.

The concept is based on forest burial: After cremation, the ashes are placed in a biodegradable urn, either in a so-called RuheBiotop or GemeinschaftsBiotop, which can accommodate up to 12 people. Each location is documented so that relatives can find it again at any time.

The center of the grounds is a place of worship with a wooden cross and seating—ideal for a quiet farewell or a small ceremony.

The forest is managed in a nature-friendly manner as part of the Schleswig-Holstein State Forestry Service and will be taken out of forestry use until at least 2109. This ensures that the RuheForst will remain a place of contemplation and remembrance for decades to come.
