Stolberg's connected ensemble of almost 400 half-timbered houses is nestled in four narrow valleys. This unique cultural heritage made the city the first in Germany to be awarded the title of "Historic European City" and thus of supra-regional importance. Here, visitors stroll between architectural wonders made of wood and panels in the late Gothic and Renaissance styles. In total, buildings from over six centuries can be admired.
