The Sainte-Assise transmitter is a radio transmitter for very long waves VLF (very low frequency), installed in the area of the castle of Sainte-Assise, in the municipalities of Seine-Port, Cesson and Boissise-la-Bertrand, in Seine-et-Marne1. When it was built in 1920, it was the most powerful transmitter in the world. Its global coverage offers intercontinental but also transoceanic communication to diving submarines. Part of the site is military land belonging to the French Navy, another became in 2009 the regional nature reserve of Sainte-Assise heather2.

It was from Sainte-Assise that the first French radio broadcast was broadcast on November 26, 1921.
