Pretty difficult to cycle with a loaded bike - a lot of bumps, large rocks, potholes, washed out spots. But worh it. Breathtaking steep cliffs, a road taken over by nature and complete tranquility. The road is closed but I think only for cars (Google translated the sign as "Closed for driving"), it is marked as a hiking path. Some portions seemed a bit dangerous so take care and cycle at your own risk.

I confirm that it's pretty, but sturdy, and that it works (gravel, 10kg of luggage and 45mm tires). I did it from east to west (left the main road at Amotsdalsvegen), a section of approx. 3.5km, including approx. 2km of climb at 12% on a poor quality path. The barrier in photo #1 (Vilius) now has a small gate on the side allowing pedestrian access (my photo #7)

Beautiful. The entrance is easy to miss when coming from the west (/north) because of vegetation. There is also a sign for hikers giving away the name and length of the path: Valejuvet 3.3 km. This side’s gradient is indeed steep for approx 2 km, but constant. I often had to use the grassy middle of the path with my gravel bike because of loose/bigger rocks in the tracks. More towards the top the surface gets better. There are several barriers/fences you need to open, climb over or go around. I counted 4 of them.
