This trail, within Alpine Lakes Wilderness, is steep and difficult to follow in places. It has no trailhead. It climbs steadily in Hardscrabble Creek basin becoming difficult to find. Bugs can be a little bad near the water depending on the season, especially if you plan to set up camp near one of the lakes.
