Loreta was built after 1668 opposite Bor Castle. From the Church of St. Nicholas, the love statue of the Black Madonna, which is probably the largest among the Czech copies of Loreto statues, was brought here.

At the end of the 18th century, interest in the pilgrimage site waned and by the middle of the 19th century, Loreto lay deserted. Over the course of the 19th century, Pastor Andreas Riedl brought the Loreto site back to life and renewed the pilgrimage to the Black Madonna of Bor. On May 2, 1945, the Loreta was damaged when the American army shelled Bor. The pilgrimages only resumed after 1989. Today, pilgrimages in Bor are traditionally well attended.

Loreta is located near the castle in Bor. A small sand parking lot was built for visitors in the immediate vicinity.
