Feys Brewery has been a protected monument since 2001. At the beginning of the last century it was the second largest brewery in the country.
The complex, which is located on the Dode IJzer and forms the border between Beveren-Kalsijde and Roesbrugge, was taken over in 1883 by Pieter Feys, who founded a brewery and later a malthouse there. The buildings look empty and deserted, but people want to start brewing beer there again (on a small scale), namely their most famous one: the Forte Brune.
