The Cumberland Knob Recreation Area at Milepost 217.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway was the first established recreation area to ever be opened on the parkway. There is a huge picnic area on the property along with hiking trails. You'll be hard-pressed to find a day when this pull-off doesn't see some visitors.
