This run actually passes through an off-leash dog park, but it was a popular walking and running area before being designated as a dog park and still gets a lot of non-canine use. And of course, if you have a dog this is a great place for you to run together.

The trail is mostly well-packed dirt and makes for a quick and easy run, with only the vestige of a couple hills and an opportunity to tie into a broader trail network if you so desire.

This area is even good for running in the winter, once trampled down, although you'll be sharing space with cross-country skiers. If you complete two loops you'll have done a little more than a 5k.

Watch out for beavers, which live in the lake and have been known to attack dogs who stray too close to the water.
