In the municipality of Oropesa, it is a watchtower located on the Oropesa cape, near the lighthouse, 20 m above sea level. n. m. and 40 meters from the sea. On September 25, 1413, Ferdinand I of Aragon authorized the construction of the tower and it was probably finished around 1428, the fortress was built between the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the following century, and the chapel at the end of the 16th century. It was finished. Joan de Cervelló, lord of Oropesa, in 1534 rebuilt and expanded the tower to secure the lordship against pirate attacks, and around 1540 the tower was given or sold to him by the king.1 Years later, in 1568, his son Pere de Cervelló, sells the tower to Felipe II. Between 1619 and 1623, works were carried out on the Oropesa castle, and it is possible that during these years the other buildings were demolished, and the tower was isolated.
