Walking along Via Roma you reach the Piazzetta della Torre, a large viewpoint overlooking the sea. All around you can feel the maritime identity of the village in a tangle of narrow alleys and pastel-coloured houses with flowered balconies. In the small square stands a bronze statue of a fisherman with a wrinkled and weathered face who holds the traditional net with one hand, while with the other he scans the horizon and the sea below: the monument to the fisherman pays homage to the maritime tradition of Numana celebrating the spirit and values of the seafarers of the last century.
