Overall, the trail up to the top of the butte is pretty steep. Poles are super helpful for both up and down the trail. Suggest wearing a solid pair of hiking boots. The trail is narrow and overgrown in some spots, so long pants are nice to have. At the top there are nice mountain views of Garfield Mountain in the east and the ridge up to 'The Pupit' in the west.
