If you turn south from here, you'll reach the McHugh Creek Trailhead, which has multiple tiers of parking for $5 (or an annual Chugach State Parks parking pass). The trail west of here, heading toward Potter Creek, generally offers the firmest footing of the entire Turnagain Arm Trail, although there may be some persistent patches of slick mud.

Heading east of here toward the next trailhead, Rainbow, the trail gets a little narrower and footing is a little less stable, but still runnable.
