This quartz quarry is still active and helps give its name to this section of the Bormio 360 route (mineral trail).
You can get there from a very steep road going up from Sondalo or going down on simple dirt roads, but be careful in both cases because you might encounter trucks carrying material to or from the quarry to the town.
