Grassy Knoll is one of many overlooks on this portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway. It is more or less a wide open grassy field with some trees in the back and some rocks throughout the meadow. Hikers like to use this as a break spot since the views are so open and the terrain is not too rough to take a seat on.
