The Roanoke River Trail travels from the Roanoke River Overlook down to the banks of the river. There are a few different spur trails that offer different perspectives of the water, but the most popular path is the Roanoke River Trail. This is a short trek from the parking area, but you pass a handful of different natural areas when you travel from the overlook, under the bridge, and to the water's edge.
