Great Views and an absolutly beautiful way. We had snow and the climbing is more difficult, but with a little bit sweating and condition no problem :-)

The weather was not perfect that day. It was super windy and ice cold at the summit as well as cloudy that you couldn't see farther than few meters ahead. But just before I started the descent, the clouds cleared a little and it was possible to see lake Baengnokdam at the crater of Hallasan. Visitors are allowed at the summit until a given time, in my case until 14:00, after which they park rangers would ask you to leave and start the descent. This is mostly to ensure that nobody would be in the national park in the dark hours. When you reach the summit, it is possible to descent either back via Gwaneumsa trail or via Seongpanak. I chose the latter as it is less steep and thus gentler on the knees. & don't forget to take a photo at the summit :)

Make sure to register with visithalla.jeju.go.kr and claim a slot to hike the Seongpanak trail. It's free. Entry from the Seongpanak parking lot is as early as 05:00 am (summer season), 05:30 am (spring/autumn) and 06:00 (winter). Depending on the season you need to pass the Azalea field control station, Samgakbong shelter between 12:00 and 13:00.
