St. John's Chapel was built in the 19th century through the efforts of the villagers themselves, as they desired a place of worship and, with considerable craftsmanship and their own financial resources, were able to lay the foundation for the chapel as it stands today. In 1920, the chapel was expanded with the addition of the chancel, sacristy, and gallery, and the first Holy Mass was celebrated there.
