Cross Fell at 893 m is the highest point in the north Pennines and the highest point of the Pennine Way. There are many harrowing stories of the winter weather here during the Spine race. It's prone to dense fog and high winds, so make sure you are well prepared before running here.

There is a cross shaped stone windbreak on the summit.
