A previous sacred building was probably erected around 1301. Parts of the building structure are probably still present in the village church in Falkenrehde from the mid-18th century. In 1910 it received its present form and furnishings. Theodor Fontane also visited the church with the crypt in 1869. He found it eerily beautiful: "It made a spooky impression because wherever the moonlight fell through the panes it was as bright as during the day..."

Already at its first documented mention in the land register of Charles IV in 1375, five of the 38 acres were designated as parish acres. Accordingly, there may already have been a village church in the village. The parish goes even further and suspects that a sacred building existed "around 1300"[1]. This was the mother church in 1381, and is also documented in 1626 and 1900. Before 1471, the church patronage lay with Jerichow Monastery, then changed until after 1541 to the monastery on the mountain outside Brandenburg, and in 1541, it fell to the Elector. From 1580 onwards, the Diricke family and the other owners of the village and the estate assumed the patronage. During this time, the number of parish acres also changed. Thus, in 1450, only three acres remained, in 1480 again five, and in 1624 only one parish acre was assigned to the church.
A new building was built from a medieval predecessor in the middle of the 18th century.
