Gibside is a historic estate in Tyne and Wear, originally created as a Georgian landscaped park by Sir George Bowes. The estate features structures designed by notable architects, including a Palladian chapel and a banqueting house, though many are now in ruins. Gibside Hall, at the heart of the estate, dates back to the 17th century but is also in a dilapidated state. The estate passed to the Bowes family in 1693 and is now largely managed by the National Trust, with some parts, like the banqueting house, owned by the Landmark Trust.
