Heddon-on-the-Wall is a pretty village that occupies a spot on the Hadrian's Wall. Here, you can find a 720-foot (220 m) stretch of the original structure.

The village is a common stopping point on the Hadrian's Wall Path long-distance trail and there are accommodation options, as well as places to eat and drink.

Lovely village to explore with a couple of pubs, an interesting church, great views over the Tyne Valley and a two metres thick section of Hadrian's Wall, which was believed to have been completed in AD 122 or 123.
