Podersdorf (Hungarian Patfalu) has almost 2200 inhabitants and is located on the eastern side of the Neusiedlersee cultural landscape, which was declared a World Heritage Site in 2001. The maximum depth of the lake is 1.8m. Due to high evaporation, the lake has a high salt content and is mainly fed by rainwater.
