The Town Hall of Pau was initially dedicated to music and theater as evidenced by its current facade.
Designed by the architect Gustave Lévy for private promoters, it was the privileged place of social life in Pau at the end of the 19th century. Inaugurated in 1862 then bought in 1878, the town hall moved there and preserved its Italian-style theatre. From then on, this dual function gave it its original character, unique in Béarn.
