The Ulmener Maar is located in the immediate vicinity of the city of Ulmen. It is about 510 m long, 350 m wide and has a depth of up to 37 m. A wall of tuff encloses the lake. This maar is one of the youngest Eifel maars. There are many stories and legends about the Ulmener Maar, including one about a giant fish.
