Hiking
The Whilamut Natural Area, formerly East Alton Baker Park, sprawls across 237 riverfront acres. Volunteers ardently rejuvenated native landscapes, "Whilamut," a name chosen with respect in collaboration with Kalapuya Tribe, means "where the river ripples and runs fast." It honors the land's historical significance, celebrated through a traditional Kalapuya naming ceremony on September 7, 2002.
