The design of the bridge in Dęblin on the Vistula was entrusted to a highly recognized engineer, Stefan Zieliński, who proved himself in the construction of the Vistula Railway. The Dęblińsko-Dąbrowska Railway was built in the years 1882 – 1885. The length of the line was 461 km, and the tracks on the bridges were 2583 meters long. The D-D railway itself had 324 bridges, mostly made of cast steel, on brick abutments. With spans up to 12 meters, plate girders and I-beams were used, and if longer, lattice girders.

Coming back to the charming bridge with a turbulent history, it was 448 meters long with five spans of 88 meters each. It is a unique bridge of the entire Dęblińsko-Dąbrowska railway and the only one founded on caissons. They were lowered 17 meters below the level of the Vistula. The width of the spans is 8.5 meters, in the light of them it was possible to lay two railway tracks - but as the author of the book writes, one was abandoned, leaving the way for military rail transport. The construction manager was engineer Jasiukowicz, and the company Lilpop, Rau and Loewenstein, which produced iron spans, was represented by engineer Dubeltowicz.
