This trail is never far from the mighty Tumwater River, which is so strong it can easily sweep away an unwary hiker. But as long as you don't jump in the water for a swim, the walking is easy. The trail wanders through cottonwood and pine forest, lined with seasonal flowers like the cheerful yellow face of arrowleaf balsamroot, before dead-ending at some rocky cliffs.
