A castle has existed on this site since the 13th century. However, the remains that you see today date to around the 15th century. Whilst there is not much left of Newark Castle these days, they are an interesting place to explore and you are afforded wonderful views out to sea from the atmospheric ruins.

Along the costal path, this castle is hard to miss. Unfortunately it has been fenced off due to its condition, but it still well viewed from the path.
