In De Skatting 18 it says "Romsicht", popularly called "the villa" in Hegemer. The eel trader Jan Annes Visser had this house built in 1904 and lived there until 1961.
Behind the wooden bridge and the line of trees you can see this national monument. "Romsicht" is Frisian for "free view". The beautiful house was designed in Neo-Renaissance style by architect W.D. de Jong in Sneek. All kinds of Art Nouveau decorations can be found outside and inside.
