Mountaineering

The Gimpel is one of the peaks in the Tannheimer Mountains. Its summit is formed by steep rock faces to the south and north, rising approximately 300 m and 650 m respectively. It is connected to the Rote Flüh by the Judenscharte, a high ridge between the two mountains, to the west. In front of the Gimpel south face extends the Gimpel southeast promontory, with the Zwerchenwand adjoining it to the east.
