The Coulson Gulch Trail takes you up toward Button Rock Preserve and the Ralph Price Reservoir to the east, Cook Mountain to the south, and North Sheep Mountain to the west. This trail through sparse pine trees and meadows of wildflowers is a great hike for those looking for a little more solitude along the Front Range. There is also the frame of an old log cabin on this trail which speaks to the homesteading history of this area and is a neat place to stop and sip some water and take some photos.
