Highland Mary Lakes are subalpine and tend to remain frozen through early summer. The lakes are in a valley largely devoid of trees, so you will have a clear view of the lakes and wildflowers. This is a popular hiking area and connects to both the Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail. You can fish in the lakes but camping is not permitted.
