The Polish Konik is a primitive horse race, which is often falsely referred to as tarpan. Tarpane = Eastern European forest horses - are probably real wild horses
It is the attempt begun at the beginning of the 20th century to preserve the last remains of the extinct Tarpane (mixed with crossed domestic horse blood).
