The photo shows the information sign "Natura 2000 area - Nieszawska Vistula Valley".

The area covers a 22.5 km section of the Vistula together with floodplains between Nieszawa and the mouth of the Drwęca River in Złotoria near Toruń.

There are rows of oxbow lakes characteristic of floodplains, and water plants develop in them and in quiet sections of the Vistula, and reeds grow on their banks. A number of protected plant species have been found in this area. This area is a nesting place for many rare and endangered species of birds in Poland and Central Europe, associated with the valleys of large unregulated rivers. The presence of many sandy islands and shallows in the channel makes this area an important feeding and resting place for migrating birds.
