This itinerary crosses a wild and important environment from an environmental point of view within the Adamello Brenta Natural Park. This road, which separates the Brenta Group from the Presanella Group, historically connected the Val di Sole with the Val Rendena and is called 'Via dell' Imperatore' because the Austro-Hungarian Emperor Franz Joseph passed through here in 1894, trip to Madonna di Campiglio for the holidays that he used to spend there with his wife Sissi.
