Prior to 1926, the Buffalo dirking water had protozoa, bacteria, small sticks and even tiny fish in the water. After 1925 and the construction of the water filtration plant, water was safe to drink due to treatments like coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration and disinfection the water.
