The small Karlsteine are a badly damaged passage grave. As with the Großer Karlsteinen, 50 m to the north-west, stones made of carbonaceous quartzite from the neighboring Piesberg were used for the construction. The chamber, probably 5 m x 1.8 m in size, originally consisted of four bays. Only a few of the supporting stones, some of which have been destroyed, remain.
The tomb was also built between 3500 and 2800 BC. and is thus a plant of the funnel beaker culture.

In the last centuries the stone tombs were used (abused) as a quarry for the foundations of houses.
As a result, a very large part of the early historical tombs have disappeared.
Same with this grave.
