    Running

As you run past Taku Lake, keep an eye out for kayakers, assorted waterfowl, and maybe even river otters in the lake. The multiuse trail here is paved and has only mild inclines, but you might want to keep an eye out for flying fishhooks from people fishing from the shore. (Most of the time they are pretty good about watching out for trail users before they cast their hook into the water, but not always.)

The Campbell Creek Trail offers a delightful road cycling experience, winding through Anchorage's greenbelts and forested areas. You'll follow the creek, enjoying views of the Chugach Mountains and passing by Taku Lake, where you might spot local wildlife like waterfowl or even a moose. The paved surface and gentle terrain make it an ideal route for a relaxed ride, perfect for families or those new to road cycling.

This accessible 12.8-mile (20.6 km) route has a moderate difficulty rating, with a minimal 189 feet (58 metres) of elevation gain, and can be completed in about 51 minutes. Parking is available at several points along the trail, making access straightforward. It's best enjoyed in the warmer months, though some sections are lighted for evening rides.

As a key part of Anchorage's extensive trail network, the Campbell Creek Trail connects to other major pathways, including the larger "Moose Loop." This trail is notable for its Dena'ina language signage, acknowledging Indigenous heritage, and its proximity to universities and parks, offering a blend of natural beauty and urban convenience.
