The trailhead to Cook Mountain is accessible via a roadside gravel lot. The trail starts with a short, flat walk through dense beautiful vegetation before it starts to climb more steeply up the side of the mountain. The summit opens up to a stony meadow where the trees part in places to yield views across Lake George and Ticonderoga.
