Clayton Lake Trail is not overly well marked, so ensure you have directions available. A little over 2 miles in, you come across a creek crossing with one log that is down. After that, there is another creek crossing with a hand rail about 30 feet past it. Turn right, right before you cross the second crossing. It’s not much of a trail which makes it difficult to navigate. You are basically just following the creek until they turn to waterfalls and you are going straight up right next to them for .75 of a mile.
