The Sanctuary of Our Lady of Knock, is a shrine and a pilgrimage site in the place where Knock locals were said to have seen an apparition of The Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph, John the Evangelist, angels, and Jesus Christ as the Lamb of God in 1879. More than a million people make the pilgrimage to the shrine every year.
