The municipality of Bohonal de Ibor is located south of the Valdecañas reservoir, between the Tagus, Gualija and Ibor rivers. About three kilometers from the town center is the beautiful Temple of Los Mármoles. This Roman temple was moved stone by stone to its current location from the ancient city of Augustobriga, which was flooded after the creation of the reservoir.
